First released as a chapbook/short story in January 1921. Source: "Lobato Letrador: 3º passo" by Zöler Zöler and Biblioteca do Visconde. It is an expanded version from A Menina do Narizinho Arrebitado. There do exist abridgments and adaptations that may deviate considerably from the initial text. The author himself performed several alterations during his life-time, so his versions may considerably deviate among themselves. Esperanto translation by Jorge Teles.
