Vlaams(ch)e Filmkens / Filmpjes

Mainstream magazine, that publishes a series of shortfiction publications meant for children of 10-13 years. Around 15% is considered speculative fiction. 614 issues were published as "Vlaamsche Filmkens" from 1930 to 1942. Restarted in 1946 as "Vlaamsche Filmkens" (with new numbering #1 to 22) and renamed to "Vlaamse Filmkens" (#23 to 848) and "Vlaamse Filmpjes"(#849 to present) Numbers 2386 to 2999 were skipped in 1999 to account for the first 614 issues. The publisher started as "Goede Pers" and changed it's name to "GP-uitgaven" in 1975 and again to "Averbode" in 1993.
