They were first published in the U.S. The books are around 32 pages long and have coloured illustrations. Simple words are used, printed in a large font. They usually focus on one series of fairies. The Scholastic Reading Level is 2 and they are the first level of difficulty in the franchise, the second being the Early Readers and the third being the original chapter books."
