• "First Printing, May, 1921" is listed on the copyright page of the Second to Twelfth printings, about half of which may be viewed at HathiTrust (catalog record). The second Harvard University copy alone lists no printings, apparently a copy of this First Printing.
• Price is from publisher advertisement "Shaw 5 New Plays", NY Times 1921-05-05 pD9, "At all bookstores $2.25". There is a full review by Heywood Broun in the same issue, page D9, "Shaw Turns Preacher for New Creed of Creative Evolution".
• Library of Congress (LCCN, below) reports no subtitle, but that is stated on the title page, whose design matches the 1st UK ed. (Constable, June).
• Page numbers are from the list of Contents, p.ciii, where all five parts are listed with subtitles such as "As Far as Thought Can Reach: A.D. 31,920".
• Cover shows a portrait photograph of the author {{A|George Bernard Shaw}}.
