Mercedes M. Yardley's name is given thus at the head of the story but as "Mercedes Yardley" in the table of contents.
The front matter, including the introduction, is numbered in Arabic numerals, then the numbering starts over for the stories. The first set of pages has been entered with Roman numerals in this index for clarity.
The unnumbered pages at the end contain "About the Authors" and assorted information about the publisher and other publications by the authors.
