This title's word count is approx. between 52000 and 59000 words, depending on the kind of page you choose for counting (one with more or one with less dialogue). In any case, the word count is a lot more than 40000 words and the title therefore is a novel according to ISFDB standards, even though it has been described as a novella in some other places and has been nominated in "Best Novella" award categories.
