  • Orton Lowe is officially only listed as the author of the introduction, but he writes it as if he were the editor of this edition "intended for school boys and girls". No other author/editor is credited. He refers to the translations of Burton, Lane, and Scott, and it appears likely that he used some combination of those translations to make this adaptation.
  • Sixty illustrations, with 4 colored plates (including the frontispiece, by Adeline H. Bolton.
  • The endpapers are two full-page drawings by "F. R.", otherwise uncredited.
  • In the page count of the book, p. xv is the same as p. [1]. Page xv is the list of plates, followed by a single blank page, followed by page "3".
