- "one of the few Christmas books which reflects any of the noise and colour of the Jubilee of last June. It begins with a children's hymn addressed to the Queen, in commemoration of the 22nd of that month, and it proceeds with a preface, in which the author tells of the success of his previous books for children, and of the number of letters written to him by his readers on the subject of the books."
This one is "very amusing nonsense, very quaintly written, and very prettily illustrated."
