Buckland" (exceptions opposite p. 74, 91, 226); several clearly signed over date 1900 (opposite p43) or 1901 (frontispiece)

Some online booksellers and some WorldCat library records identify Buckland as illustrator of the novel, or Buckland and John Hassall as co-illustrators ({{OCLC|277052030}}, {{OCLC|2494997}}), and give years from 190? to 1968 (edition or printing dates?)
